ABOUT HOOPMANIA! 2008 Marks the 17th year of Geo's HOOPMANIA Camp. We are looking forward to another great summer with more fun and exciting games, buzzer beaters and moments that will be unforgettable! Camp Director Geo Thomas has been instructing young athletes since 1986. He has coached High School, CYO and travel team basketball. His 8th grade boys AAU teams compiled a 136-44 record from 1997-2002. He is currently the 8th grade boys coach at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs in Beverly Hills. Coach Geo has carefully chosen his staff based on their basketball experience and ability to communicate to the younger athlete. 100% of the instructors are former HOOPMANIA campers who are now starring on their college or high school teams. PHILOSOPHY: We offer a unique format designed to prepare our players for basketball at any level. With a very structured agenda based on instruction and insight, we hope to enable each camper to out-think their opponents. Our campers work exceptionally hard, but we also make sure that each camper has fun while enjoying the great game of basketball! FORMAT: HOOPMANIA is a series of one week camps that run from 9am-3pm. Campers can arrive as early at 8:40am. At 9:00am, attendance is taken and a brief overview of the day is given. Campers then run, stretch and run some more as we warm them up for the upcoming workouts. They are divided into teams and travel to a variety of skill stations. Each station will teach campers a new aspect of the game. After the stations, kids participate in skill contests and scrimmage games. Throughout the week, they play games against other teams in their age division. On Friday, playoffs are held to determine division and contest champions. There is an awards presentation every Friday at 2:00pm where each camper will be recognized for their hard work. Parents, friends and family are all welcome to attend. 2008 SCHEDULE:
